Membership & Discipleship at the Church of the Village
Everyone in our community is welcome to participate in the ministries of the church. Non-members are fully invited to participate in our worship, small groups, HNN food ministry, and our social justice advocacy. Our pastors will meet with you at any stage of your involvement with our church to answer questions, pray with you, or assist in other ways.
Becoming a member of the Church of the Village is a significant step in growing as a disciple (follower and student) of Jesus. Becoming a disciple is a life-long process and being a committed member of a community of disciples is an important way that we grow.
We like to say that there are really no “perks” to being a member of the Church of the Village. Instead, membership is when you make a commitment to take ownership and responsibility for the church and its goals. Our members take a vow to support the church’s ministry through their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Our church community then takes a vow to support you on your journey as well.
If you are interested in becoming a committed member of the Church of the Village, we ask that you take the Exploring Faith Class (so you know what you’re getting into). Classes are held regularly, so let one of our pastors know you are interested in learning more about it. We look forward to welcoming you into the loving, transformed, transforming membership of this church!
