Worship Celebration (10:30 A.M.):

Join Pastor Vicki and the United Methodist Women for a special worship service at focused on God embodied in the feminine.

We Are One in the Spirit: Addressing Interpersonal Violence from an International Perspective (12:15 P.M.):

Following the worship service, we will have a special presentation by Jeanie Kurka Reimer, the Lithuania Partnership Coordinator for the General Board of Global Ministries. Jeanie’s presentation will focus on violence against women in the US and Lithuania.

Domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking are difficult issues affecting many people in this country as well as around the world. Feelings of isolation, shame, and guilt are common emotions for people affected by these crimes. Come and hear about how a group of Methodist women in Lithuania and the United States worked together to bring awareness and education to women from the Baltic States in a first-ever Women’s Retreat bringing renewed hope and a voice to women affected by these issues.

While working as a social worker working with victims of sexual assault and domestic violence in the United States, Jeanie went on a mission trip to Lithuania. She had no expectation that her work in the US would spill over into mission work in Lithuania. Quite unexpectedly, she found that women in this small, rural corner of the world were all too often victims of these crimes. By working with a group of courageous women in Lithuania, they opened up these unspoken topics and began to create a place where it was safe to begin conversation. No longer were their voices unheard.

Join us on March 10 to hear about Jeannie’s journey and for the potluck afterwards!
