Experience Spirit-Filled Worship at
The Church of the Village

We worship together every Sunday morning at 10:30 am. Our worship is alive and dynamic and you’ll find that no two services are ever the same. The first Sunday of every month we observe Holy Communion, and the third Sunday of each month we hold a healing prayer session for those seeking healing, wholeness, or blessing for themselves or others. We believe that all are welcome to participate in Communion or Healing Prayer no matter your age, background, or spiritual path. However, if you are more comfortable observing or praying alone, you are also welcome to do so.

Don’t worry about wearing your “Sunday best”

Here people feel welcome wearing anything from suits to jeans and t-shirts – so please come in whatever makes you comfortable. Our main entrance is on 7th Ave, and we have an entrance on 13th St equipped with an elevator for those who have difficulty with stairs. You can help yourself to coffee, receive a bulletin, and make yourself at home in any pew.

Family-friendly worship

All children are very welcome in worship. We promise no one will look at you funny if your child squirms or cries. We love hearing kids in church and most children really enjoy being in our worship services. For children who may not love it so much or for moments when you just need a break, we have a dedicated children’s room in the lower level of our building that is open to you. We also have a stroller accessible building and changing tables in many of our bathrooms.

Creating a community of worship

Most services begin with a few songs and prayer. A member of the church will help guide the service. Near the beginning of the service, a Welcomer will invite anyone who is with us for the first or second time to stand and introduce themselves. We know this can be uncomfortable for some people. If you don’t feel like standing, know that it is okay to stay seated. The service continues with scripture readings, a sermon, an offering, and a few more songs. Our services are usually about 90 minutes long.

Passing the Peace

At the end of worship, we “pass the peace” – sharing the peace and love of Christ and greeting those around us. If you like hugs, this is the time to get them. If you don’t want a hug just stick your hand out, and you’ll get lots of super-welcoming handshakes. We deeply treasure community and look forward to this moment every week.

Keeping in touch

Whether it’s the 1st, 2nd or even the 10th time that you join us, we hope you will fill out a welcome card with your contact information. You will receive a nice note from our office and – if you live in the area – an email or phone call from one of our pastors. With your permission, we will gladly add you to our mailing list for our weekly e-newsletter.
