What's Happening?
Intern Nathan Bledsoe
We have been blessed to have student intern Nathan Bledsoe with us this year. Nathan is a student at Union Theology Semininary and
still has another year. But his last Sunday at Church of the Village is May 20, then he's back home to Texas for the
summer. Nathan helped us launch our supervised room for infants and toddlers, and Sunday School for the older kids. He
also developed the "Safe Sanctuary" policy and started up a training program to ensure that our kids are well cared
for.
Best wishes for a great summer Nathan!

Read The New Jim Crow With Us!
The Church of the Village Justice Reading Group invites you to read The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness
by Michelle Alexander, which explores how our nation's high incarceration rates for men of color are stripping civil rights from
Americans in a new caste system reminiscent of the Jim Crow era.
On Sunday, May 20 at 12:15pm, we will discuss the
book after worship at our Justice Reading Group lunch.
