Belonging in the Church of the Village

We are a global congregation that fully embraces the hybrid worship experience. If you’re in the NYC area, we look forward to seeing you in person. We remain committed to this engaging hybrid virtual and in-person experience, where every attendee and member is made to feel part of our community. No matter where you are spiritually or geographically, you are welcome here! Join us in worship on Sundays at 10:30am ET / 7:30am PT via Zoom, Facebook Live, or in the building at 201 W. 13th St. in NYC.

Everyone in our community, members and attendees alike, is welcome to participate in the ministries of the church. Non-members are fully invited to participate in our worship, small groups, and our social justice advocacy. Our pastors will meet with you at any stage of your involvement with our church to answer questions, pray with you, or assist in other ways.

Becoming a member of the Church of the Village is a significant step in growing as a disciple (follower and student) of Jesus. Becoming a disciple is a lifelong process and being a committed member of a community of disciples is an important way that we grow. We welcome anyone who is interested in membership regardless of gender expression, sexual orientation, background, or spiritual path. As a gay-friendly church, the Church of the Village is part of a long tradition of radical inclusivity for all, especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community.

We like to say that there are really no “perks” to being a member of the Church of the Village. Instead, membership is when you make a commitment to take ownership and responsibility for the church and its goals. Our members take a vow to support the church’s ministry through their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Our church community then takes a vow to support you on your journey as well.

If you are interested in becoming a committed member of the Church of the Village, we invite you to attend a one-time small group called Exploring Faith, which gives new attendees and those considering membership a chance to get to know one another, the pastors, and some of the current lay leadership, along with learning more about the history and present witness of COTV. Exploring Faith is held regularly, so let one of our pastors know you are interested in learning more about it. We look forward to welcoming you into the loving, transformed, transforming membership of this church!
