Food Pantry and Community Meal

The Red Door Place has two programs: the Tuesday Food Pantry, when we distribute bags of groceries to individuals and families in need, and Saturday’s Community Meal, when we provide hot food to anyone who comes to our doors.  This is one of the most important missions for our church members, who see this program as a key to sharing the love of Christ by supporting social justice and community outreach.  Church members eat with guests, and guests have become church members and volunteers.

How To Come as a Guest to the Food Pantry:

The Red Door Place food pantry is now available by appointment only, Tuesdays from 2pm to 5pm.
Appointments are available via the Plentiful App (download from the play/app store). You can search for us in the app by “The Red Door Place”, or scroll through the alphabetical list. After registering on the app you will receive a QR code - bring the QR code with you to your appointment. Arrive within five minutes of your scheduled appointment and present your QR code for scanning. If you do not have a QR code you will not receive pantry.

Note: Missed appointments can be rescheduled to a later open slot or the following Tuesday. If you have any questions, call (347) 687-5321 or visit TheRedDoorPlace.org.

How to come as a Guest to the Saturday Community Meal:

Instead of our usual sit-down meal, we now hand out meal bags beginning around 11:30am. Staff and volunteers prepare a hot meal and package it for distribution. Guests may arrive early to get a place in line. Chalk marks on the sidewalk at six-foot intervals show where to stand to be a safe distance from others. Masks required! Don’t have one? Ask for one from us.
